Hey there, happy clients! ๐
Iโm Aya Majed, co-founder of The German Outlet, and todayโฆ weโre finally sharing our story โ our real story โ with full transparency, trust, and excitement, just like weโve always promised. ๐
๐ญ How It All Began
The German Outlet wasnโt born online.ย it actually started as a tiny physical store in Chiyah back in 2014.
At that time, my family was drowning in expenses โ rent, university tuition, home bills โ you name it. ๐ธ
Thatโs when my dad and my big sister had a crazy idea: โLetโs start selling small kitchen appliances.โ
No assets. No experience. Just $100 in our pockets and a whole lot of hope.
We rented a small store in our neighborhood, took out a small loan, filled a few shelves, and waited for customers to walk in. My mom sat in that store all day, every day, smiling at anyone who passed by โ even though our sales barely covered the rent. ๐
After a year of giving it everything we had, nothing changed. So, with heavy hearts, we shut the doors. ๐
Our first dreamโฆ failed.
โจ The Spark That Changed Everything
Seven months later, we got that one call that changed our lives.
A loyal customer called my sister, Amany, in a panic โ she needed an appliance that same day for a gathering. We told her, โThe storeโs been closed for monthsโฆ but we still have the item in our warehouse if you want to pick it up.โ
She was thrilled. She took the product โ and she gave us the idea that lit the fire again:
๐ โIf not a storeโฆ why not online?โ
And just like that, The German Outlet went digital.
๐ช From Zero Knowledge to Non-Stop Effort
We had full-time jobs, no tech background, and zero clue about e-commerce. But we had excitement (like, 1000% level of excitement ๐) and a whole lot of determination.
We took online courses, watched tutorials, made mistakes, fixed them, made new ones, and slowly โ very slowly โ we started receiving orders again.
For four years, we were just a normal online store โ a father and his daughters packing orders, learning ads, and dreaming big, while our mom prayed for a miracle. ๐
๐ช๏ธ The Crisis, The Comeback, andโฆ The Viral Brush!
You think this is a success story already? Nope โ plot twist! ๐
Then came the economic crisis in Lebanon (2019).
We lost our first $3,000 because of the currency collapse and had no idea what to do next.
What rate should we use? How could we explain to customers that $1 was no longer 1,500 L.L.? We were stuck. Again.
And thenโฆ boom. Corona hit.
But life is funny โ because thatโs when we went viral. ๐ฅ
Our best-selling product, the Revlon Hot Brush Volumizer, took the internet (and our hearts) by storm. ๐ฉท
Even through the chaos โ health scares, dollar rates skyrocketing, working fully from home โ we pushed harder than ever.
We partnered with new brands, learned how to run ads, built our loyalty program, launched installment plans to help customers buy easily, and grew a loving, supportive community online.
For the first timeโฆ we started seeing real profits.
2023 was our golden year โ the peak of TGO. ๐
We had over 12 partner companies, direct German suppliers, and worked with 3 delivery companies to make sure every order arrived on time.
TGO became our full-time job, our dream, and our pride.
๐ฌ What Makes Us Different
Through all the ups and downs, one thing has never changed โ our customer service. ๐ฌ
Itโs what truly sets us apart, and itโs a promise weโll keep forever:
To serve you with honesty, kindness, and the same energy we started with โ no matter what. ๐ช
๐ And Todayโฆ A New Chapter Begins
Fast forward to now โ two years after the war in Lebanon.
Weโve been hit hard. We lost a lot. Weโre rebuilding from zero again.
But hereโs the thing about The German Outlet โ we donโt quit.
We started from nothing once, and weโll do it again.
So here we are โ with the same passion, same mission, and the same dream:
To bring you the best home, kitchen, and beauty appliances at the best prices, with the love and care of a family that truly gets it. โค๏ธ
Thank you for being part of our journey โ through every up, down, and miracle in between.
With love and endless gratitude,
Aya Majed & The German Outlet Family ๐ค
